Our work
Our work
From dignity and education to skills and economic independence, we help girls and young women build better futures for themselves and their communities.
Menstrual Health & Dignity
Helping girls manage their periods with dignity, confidence and knowledge.
Period poverty affects many girls in underserved communities, limiting access to appropriate menstrual products and reliable menstrual-health information. WomenNow Ghana works to remove these barriers through practical education, community engagement and access to sustainable menstrual products.
Our work includes:
- Menstrual hygiene education
- Distribution of reusable sanitary pads
- School and community outreach
- Breaking menstrual myths and stigma
- Menstrual and reproductive health awareness
- Follow-up and beneficiary support
Our goal is simple: to ensure menstruation does not prevent a girl from attending school, participating confidently or reaching her potential.

Skills & Economic Empowerment
Turning practical skills into opportunities for independence.
For young women facing unemployment, poverty or interrupted education, practical vocational skills can provide a pathway towards sustainable livelihoods. WomenNow Ghana supports young women, including school dropouts and young mothers, through hands-on skills development.
Our training and support include:
- Dressmaking and tailoring
- Hairdressing and beautification
- Catering and related livelihood skills
- Practical entrepreneurship guidance
- Career and livelihood development
- Support towards self-employment
The aim goes beyond learning a trade. We want young women to earn sustainable incomes, become economically independent and create better opportunities for themselves and their families.

Girls’ Education, Advocacy & Mentorship
Giving girls the knowledge, confidence and support to shape their futures.
WomenNow Ghana creates opportunities for girls to learn, speak openly about issues affecting them and receive guidance from trusted adults, professionals and community stakeholders.
Our activities include:
- School outreach and educational sessions
- Girls’ mentorship and guidance
- Adolescent and reproductive health education
- Teenage pregnancy awareness and prevention
- Sexual abuse awareness and safe reporting education
- Community durbars and sensitisation
- Engagement with parents and community leaders
- Advocacy against stigma and discrimination
By working with girls and the communities around them, we seek to create safer, more supportive environments where girls can stay in school, make informed decisions and pursue their ambitions.
